Hi

I am looking to replace a bathroom extractor fan. There is an existing hole in the external wall. There is a square white slatted unit that is just vents to outside. Over the years, this has been painted over etc and is generally a bit of an eyesore/ineffective.

Looking at all the extractor fans shows them to be 100/150mm but this square slatted panel that is currently in place is approximately 240mm by 240mm. Am I meant to fit some sort of adapter to this, or do I have to find myself some oversized extractor?

Many thanks in advance

100 or 150(4" or 6") is the size of the hole in the wall. I would think you are looking for a 150,although a newer one will likely be less in size on the outer measurements and you may have to move the wiring position if it's built in to the wall.

Make sure the pipe through the wall and the outside vent is clear of crap and dust, that is usually what makes them seem ineffective.
