HAHAHAHA Yeh right !!!!

I replyed to an advert for a A3 Sline that was a Very good price on Mobile.de. The advert asked for us to ONLY CONTACT FROM THE EMAIL IN THE PHOTO NOT THE FORM ON THE PAGE. I did and asked for more info. I just got this email

Thank you for your interest in my car.
Currently I'm in England (United Kingdom).
Lived in Germany few time due to my job until last month and I've purchased the car there. I've brought the car home with me and it's now located in England.
I tried to sell the car here in UK, but no luck because of the steering wheel ,is on the left side like in Germany, as you probably know in UK we are driving cars with the steering wheel on the right side.
My car is already at one transport company from here, from UK.(I paid this company to take care about transaction and they will act like a third party).

Some details about the car: perfect condition , never had an accident , no scratches or any other kind of damage .
It have german registration and will come with full service history , german TUV valid more than one year.

We can have a deal if you are really interested to buy it.
The price is correct and it's not negotiable and it also includes the transport to your country.

Regards,

McGee

What do you all think ? Also the advert has gone now !!!!

update

I replyed to the ORIGINAL email address asking if the car was still avalerble as the advert had gone. here is the reply !!!!

Yes, the car is still available.

I already signed a contract with the transport company and as mentioned before I paid all the taxes and I have no interested in loosing that kind of money. The car is ready to be shipped to any location. This is the only way and my only condition in this transaction.

Terms of the Transaction:
Here is how I want to go about delivery and payment for the car .

I will explain to you step by step how this will work :

1)First you have to send me your shipping information (your name and address) and also a copy from a photo id ( Passport, ID or Driver's License),I've attached a copy from my passport too.
2)After I receive your shipping info, I'll contact the transport company and give them your shipping details to start the transaction.
3)You will receive a notification from the transport company with all the transaction details and also with the invoice.
4)After that, you will have to make deposit payment to the transport company , as a guarantee .
( you must send a deposit of 1.500 Euro first and rest of the money after the inspection time if you decide to buy the car)
5)The transport company will verify the payment, and if everything is in order, they will deliver the car to your address.
6)After you will receive the car and you will be completely satisfied with it, you will tell to the transport company your decision. You have 10 days to inspect it and take a decision.
If you don't keep it,they will refund your deposit in full without any charges from your side.
7)If by any reason, you will not be satisfied with the car, your deposit will be refunded to you and the car will be shipped back with no expense from your side.

I will not receive any payment until your agree to purchase the car.

Let me know if we can do this.

NOTE:
SHIPPING TIME: 3-5 DAYS within Europe.

The money will be sent to the Transport Company before you will receive the car and not to me. I repeat they will keep your money until you receive the car and the documents of the car. You will have an inspection period of 10 days. In this time you can check, test and inspect the car. If by any reason (the car has any hidden damage or it isn't like i describe it) you can reject the deal. In this case the transport company will refund your deposit in full and they will ship the car back on MY cost.
The car was verified by the transport company qualified automotive technician and the car have passed all the test with no problems.

Regards,

McGee

Definitely a scam, avoid at all costs....I got a similar replay when I enquired about a cheap (which I think is the clue) Z3 Cabrio on Autotrader last week, it was almost word for word....also same last year when I looked at a LHD Jag X type.

Just in case you don't know where England is?

ETA: OP, of you are worried about this being a scam, I don't mind acting as your agent, just send me a cheque for the amount, I will pay it into our business account and then do a direct transfer to the seller. Thank you, please.

Erm..... I think you may want to delete those links. They're highly unlikely to be the real scammer, and you could end up in very hot water if the passport owner sees this thread.

He looks like an honest guy.
Tell him you want the car shipping to Lagos, and you'll pay with a banker's draft.

Yes, and?

This thread is associating an innocent person with a scam....

The scammer is not the person in the photo, or the person linked to on Facebook.

Identity and Passport Service, they changed the name when some bright spark decided we all need to prove who we are all the time.
And that can't be the real scammer if the grammar is that terrible, can it?

No, they're heading to the back - they've eaten the hair at the front - just the usual 'losers' left behind...

Stay well away from any car purchase that includes either anything from someone named DARRAN MCGEE or involves a website/company saying they are 'RKH LOGISTICS', (RKH-Logistics.co.uk)
It's a scam and I've just been hit for over £3k. My fault, should have been more switched on, but don't fall for it.

Cars being advertised on ebay/gumtree etc......Owner is not in the country to sell them and so they have handed them over to an independent 3rd party that handles the sale. They ask you to contact the 3rd party company.
Company looks great, price includes delivery. You pay the money into the logistics companies account and the money is held in escrow.
The money is only transferred to the seller after delivery and you confirm you're happy.

Howvever! The car doesn't turn up and the money disappears.

Beware!

Just thought I'd update this to confirm that this scam is alive and well. Circa July 2015

Hello,

First of all I want to thank you for your interest for my car. I've almost reached an agreement with a potential buyer. Unfortunately, it looks like there are some problems and he doesn't have all the money to pay. The car is still available for sale, it is in extremely good condition,100% HPI Clear, full service history. Currently I am on a business trip to Italy and will have to stay here for about 6 months (this is why I am selling the car for a low price and I am looking for a fast sale to finance the Italian project ) .I left the car to a specialized car shipping company custody and they will handle the sale for me. The V5 log book is already signed on my behalf, the car will come with 2 keys, all service records and previous MOT's. They will deliver the car directly to your home address (is ready for shipping because the loan of my previous buyer didn't get approved) so there won't be any additional shipping costs. If you are interested in purchasing the car just let me know and I will inform you with all the details

Thank you

Sent from Sarah iPhone

I left the car in R K H Logistics custody ( www.rkh-logistics.co.uk ) and they will handle the sale for me.I`ve used this company when I have purchased my other van and I was very satisfied with their services. They acted very professional and at very affordable costs
If you are interested in purchasing the car just contact R K H department that handles the sale directly at: agent@rkh-logistics.co.uk and they will assist you with any questions you might have regarding the transaction
When contacting RKH Logistics sales department please specify my name ( Sarah Hampson ) and the car make

Thank you too, This really is a great car and we will be sad to see it go but we would rather somebody else got use out of it rather than it standing unused.

Sincerely

From RKH....

Thank you for your enquiry regarding this vehicle.
Vehicle Honda S2000
Year 2004
Mileage 79982
Price £4000
Tax due 01 May 2016
MOT Expires 15 April 2016 with no advisories on the last test

You're in safe hands when you buy using R K H Logistics services.

We realize that a vehicle is an important purchase. You have to be completely satisfied with your investment. This program protects your vehicle purchase against accidents, major mechanical failure, odometer-tampering, and salvage or flood damage.

Given our vast experience in selling cars we will offer you a 100% safe, fast and pleasant transaction. R K H Logistics provide reliable & efficient car transport services with a fleet of single & multi car transporters operating daily throughout the UK & Ireland.

We confirm that the vehicle is in our custody, it has been fully inspected by our technical support team and it is in very good condition. All documents are present and in perfect order.
All cars sold using our services:
-Have a Full Service History
-Are fully HPI Clear
-Have a minimum of 6 Months MOT
-All vehicles supplied with 3 months warranty
-7 days free driveaway insurance
We are afraid that due to the temporary lack of personnel and due to previous bad experiences we had with a lot of time wasters and tire kickers just wanting to test drive not to buy we do not organize private viewings or cash on delivery.
If you are genuinely interested in purchasing the car, this is how the transaction is going to take place :
The transaction will be fully under R K H Logistics surveillance, giving both , seller and buyer security and insurance that nothing will go wrong. You will first have to send the payment for your transaction by verified bank to bank wire transfer to our bank account. R K H Logistics will be the 3rd, objective party involved in the transaction. This way you will actually pay for the car after you will receive and test it, because R K H Logistics will hold the funds in an escrow account and release it to the seller only after you accept and confirm the delivery. After the car reaches your address you will have 48 hrs for inspection to see and test the car. Within this period you have to decide if you purchase it or not. If you decide to take it you will have to contact and let us know that, so we can release the payment to the seller. If the vehicle is not as described or not passes your inspection, the item will be collected and you will be fully refunded. The shipping back will be done on seller expense, but we are sure this will not be the case.
If you want to take the deal to the next step all you have to do is to send exactly the following information:
First name:
Last name:
Address:
City:
County:
Post Code:
Phone Number:
Once your details will be received we will send you the official payment invoice for your transaction

You will also have access to a refund policy on this transaction

  • To send your details simply reply to this e-mail

Kind regards,
R K H Logistics team
