Spent most of yesterday putting Ronseal quick drying wood stain on my doors and windows, followed the instructions and at the end had a not bad finish smile

5hrs later it started raining but I wasn't worries as the tin says in big letters "Rain Proof in 30 Minutes".

Woke up this morning to find that all the wood was covered in water marks :-(

Just off the phone to Ronseal who state that even though it says "Rain Proof in 30 Minutes" it can mark if it rains within 48hrs of application but the person on the phone told me that the marks should dry out and be OK.

I suspect they are talking rubbish but love to hear from someone in the know, am I going to have to sand down the doors and repaint frown

Cheers

I guess 'proof' means technically impermeable, not cosmetically unmarkable. Can understand the disappointment though.

They're right about the water spots, they should fade and disappear. I had exactly the same experience.
