Bangkok Airport Hotel

Have a stopover in Bangkok in October we land early evening and don't fly out until the next morning. Looking for a hotel whioch is fairly close to hotel but also near some nightlife etc. Anyone got any reccomendations..?? The hotel at the airport seems very expensive so don't really want to stay there.

I got stuck in Bangkok in April due to that vocanic ash incident. I had to stay in loads of airport hotels for over a week! Best i stayed in value for money wise was Kantary House. I can highly recommend it. About 10 mins from the airport and really really nice, and only 1500bht a night (about 30 quid) Has a pool, gym, sauna and steam room, nice restaurant etc, and the rooms are really modern and new.
Not really near any nightlife though. I'm not sure any thing near the airport is. The main nightlife area of BKK is a good 30-40 mins from the airport as far as i know. (patpong, Khao San etc)
