Fanatec vs G27

I know this is a well-discussed topic, and I have done a search, so I'll keep it simple:

Is the Fanatec a better wheel than the G27? Worth the extra £100?

Someone on here sent theirs back as they said it was poor? And ended up keeping the G25. I'll mainly be using it for PC use, but'd be an even bigger bonus if I could hook it up to the 360 for Forza, which the G27 doesn't allow.

Someone also said the pedals were poor on the Fanatec?

It depends what pedals you get with the Fanatec, if it's the clubsport pedals they are among the best around.

There are several reviews of various Fanatec parts.

I'm fairly sure that the Fanatec wheel is 360 compatible but you should check.

I have a G25 and I've used a G27 quite extensively, the G27 will be pretty difficult to beat IMO.

I wouldn't get the ClubSport Pedals, I couldn't justify 200Euro for them, as great as they are.

If the G27 worked with the 360 I'd just get that, but 360 support with the new Fanatec "Turbo S" wheel is a big draw for me, I'd be great for Forza3.

Actually, a few threads on there have made my mind up...seems to be quite a few people on that forum (and others) having issues with Fanatec in terms of support/customer service. Quite a few have also mentioned that its not really worth the extra just for Forza3, if thats the only reason for considering it.

So its just a matter of finding a decent deal for the G27, can't believe I missed out on some places selling the G25 for £110!

I've got the Turbo S from Fanatec purely because it can be used on the PS3 and the xbox, I do love it but i have never used the g27. I have had the xbox wheel and the logitec GT Force, and this is hugely better than both of these.
The total lack of decent wheels for the xbox made it a no brainer for me, i also get the advantage of not having the hassel of changing wheels for the different consuls depending on what i want to play.
I bought this wheel as a long term buy, so Forza 3 is now, but also for Forza 4 etc

G27 EVERY time. I've had a GT3 RS, and the 911 Turbo S. Turbo S was janky at best, and the GT3 RS has centering issues.

Altrezia, I think it was your posts I was reading regarding the Fanatec. You're not the only one with issues, it seems.

The stories are unbelievable about people only recieving "some" of the bits they ordered, many are waiting a long, long time for delivery or responses to customer services. Its certainly enough to tip me in favour of the G27, and there's enough PC racers to keep me happy without the need for Forza...

Or the best combo, G27 wheel and shifter with clubsport pedals

Yep, not pleasant.

I now use a modified G25, with a proper single-seater steering wheel bodged on, and a custom button box.

It's not the best wheel ever, but it's rock solid, reliable and nice to use.
