Vine is tolerbable as his show can sometimes be interesting, ok he's a ranging commie but he does wind people up at times which can be funny. Steve right however is an annoying with no redeeming qualities and his show is repetitative, dated, old bilge.

Thank goodness for that. Maybe the BBC can cut the gin budget now and spend it on some decent programming.
How the old windbag lasted this long is a total mystery. I stopped listening (something I'd only done by default on those days where an early start meant being in the car pre-Wogan) when the Witch regaled us all with the tale of how she'd had to "stop for a widdle" on the way to the studio.

Used to find it difficult to tell whether or not she'd turned-up to work stfaced again, as she talked complete drivel regardless.

Vine does play some good music, but I hate his one sided arguments. Very glad that smob Kennedy has retired.

As for the week days after 7pm, why not??

When I saw the thread title I was hoping it was going to be Chris Evans who was out, cannot stand his show in the mornings. Far too upbeat and cheerful!

I didn't realise quite how often the old bag had put her foot in her mouth.

She once described a visiting clergyman as an “old prune”, called fellow DJ Ken Bruce an “old fool” and accused Fenella Hadingham, a newsreader, of soiling her underwear.
Telegraph said:
In 2000, she had to apologise for suggesting that black people made good athletes because they were used to running away from lions. In 2007, she was reprimanded for claiming that she had narrowly avoided running over a black man because she could not see him in the dark. “It’s lucky he opened his mouth to yawn or something and I saw him,” she said.
Telegraph said:
Last year, she raised eyebrows among the BBC high command by describing Enoch Powell as “the best prime minister we have probably never had”.
Double Alex Lester's pay and extend 'The Best Time Of The Day Show' to 0700.

Good riddance. No more banal tales of her cats and what she did at the weekend.

Agree - extend Alex Lesters stint.

She sounds like she would fit into the PH demographic quite well.

these made me chortle, dare I say it Bruce is an old fool and the newsreader probabbly had soiled herself, the clergyman cannot comment on but I bet he was a wrinkled old prune

as for the other two comments well i think people need to get their sense of humours back in this world

apart from the last few years when her alleged drinking reared it's head I always quite liked her

eta i would rather listen to her than that idiot and his idiotic friends in the afternoon with their affected 'of the people' voices, how he is still on radio I do not know

The difference in professionalism betwen her and Lynn Parsons is rather acute. Parsons is simply so much more professional, the show more slick and less irritating.

If only Lynn would take the opportunity to get rid of the dire showtunes slot to iron out the last dodgy bit of Keneddyism.

Seems as though Aled Jones will be presenting what was Sarah Kennedy's show from between 5 to 6-30 am. Then Chris Evan's show will be starting at 6-30 am from this Monday.

I love Radio 2. Far better than the rubbish on Radio1. I get a lot of stick for listening to it though as I'm only 24 years old
