Crashed but not Out

DRM Ferrari binned at Brands

DRM Racing's second car (no 67) was involved in a high speed accident last week at Brands Hatch in the hands of Lourenço Beirão da Veiga. It's been rendered irrepairable in time for the season opener on 3rd April at Donington.

DRM have located another suitable machine which will run at round 1, and will be driven by Lourenço Beirão da Veiga and Steve Moore (ex Hawthorns Tuscan racer). The car is again a Ferrari F360 Challenge car with minor modifications to make it eligible for the British GT series.

However due to time frames it will not run in the stand out DRM Racing yellow, but instead it's original Rosso Red.

After Donington it will be re-painted into DRM colours and identical to the #62 car of Wilcox/Amorim.

DRM have set some impressive times ahead of the opening round at Donington with Adam Wilcox setting times 2.1 seconds faster than last years pole time at Donington and in the recent Brands Hatch media day topped the times by 1.4 seconds in the lead DRM Racing Ferrari.

Does that mean this 360 will be almost road spec? Will be interesting to see.

As for those lap times, I wonder how much of the time gain can be attributed to the new surface at Donnington.

I will be going, its one meeting not to miss mate! Donnington is one of the best places for spectators I believe. You can drive into the middle of the circuit then drive all round to different viewing areas.
Watching them down the dunlop straight is amazing!!

50/50 here. We are flying out of the country from Heathrow Sunday afternoon but am contemplating going via Donington to cheer on Steve Moore and the DRM guys first.

There are quite a few going.

Have a look here and here

Tickets are £12 on Sunday or £15 for the weekend (I think).

Generally people seem pretty favourable about it as a circuit to watch from - see some of the comments in the threads above...

Best spectators circuit in the country IMO.
You can get to all areas inside and outside the circuit and having a hill in the middle is a fantastic idea!

I'll be there.

Be sure to find the Insane Racing awning in the Tuscan paddock. There will be a PH banner outside. All PHers welcome to come in for a cuppa.
