Making (Turbo) Cider.
Discussion
I know, I know. Sounds like something only the most desperate alky would resort to making but I've just sampled my first batch and I'm pleasantly surprised.
I fancied making cider from scratch but a bit of research showed that would be a ballache. Getting the apples, chopping, pressing would require kit I don't have and after buying may not use again. Then I happened upon the recipe for turbo cider. Basically it uses tetra-packed juice from the supermarket, cider yeast and a bit of sugar in the bottles if you want it fizzy. Ferments in a week.
I'll be starting some more this week

I would recommend buying a fermenting vessel and a pressure keg then going on youtube and looking at how to make your own press. Although i have never made cider yet, my brother keeps banging on for me to make apple or pear cider. That will probably be my next one to be honest.
I have been making lager for over a year now i bought a full kit complete with bottles for £50. Its good experimenting with it, i no its not everyone's cup of tea but for an average £17 a kit (after the initial £50) for 40 pints its a bargain.
I would recommend a mexican cerveza (like corona) nice drink with out adding to it.
I just need to get into the flow of having a constant supply instead of having to wait a few weeks for new batch.
P.s Most will say that it is ready to drink in 14 days but really if your wanting a nice drink its more like 3-6 months for maturing. After 14 days it will probably taste like s**t and you will never do it again.

Just bottled my latest batch to which I'd added a pound of honey (I like it dry but others complained
). I warned 'em. I said "That'll turn to alcohol" I said. Like that, I said it. I warned 'em but did they listen? Did they eckaslike.

Tastes nice though, even at this stage. Be even better in a few weeks. A proper winter warmer.
