Key phrase is "ASSIST" It's not an fully automatic system. So, just like parking sensors you hit something it's YOUR fault. AS for the system, whilst it works it's a bit crap. As you have to crawl past the gap so the car measures it. Many instances of people complaining the car cannot "see" a space, clearly big enough. When in the same time you could do it on your own.
Because for the last umteen years people have been taught to pass a test not taught how to drive.

ker knows how to use a roundabout mini or otherwise it’s like the last stand at the ok corral.It took me changing my wife’s instructor and company after she told me that all they do is drive and no manoeuvres, just drive and when I asked why he told me that the way we teach now, fecking idiot.
I know this isn’t the case with all companies.
But where did it all go wrong with drivers?
