Just tried a car fitted with this, it's awesome!

When you reverse park, it does all the steering for you. You just do the accelerator and brake.

Did four in a row, watching the steering wheel spin itself NEVER got boring!

hehe What is it's "Tolerance"- Ie, can you park in the smallest mathematically possible space or does it need a foot+ each end of the car?

I wonder if the insurers will pay out for the damage to your car if it damages itself parking.....

ROFL

That is a great point. Who's to blame you or the car??
And who loses their no claims you or the car?

Car would feel a right tit down the petrol station explaining itself to its mates.

Doubtful. But I like imagining the onboard computer telling you 'Give it some welly, we're gonna need to Russ Swift this st.' before zooming towards the space and applying some handbrake.

Key phrase is "ASSIST" It's not an fully automatic system. So, just like parking sensors you hit something it's YOUR fault.

AS for the system, whilst it works it's a bit crap. As you have to crawl past the gap so the car measures it. Many instances of people complaining the car cannot "see" a space, clearly big enough. When in the same time you could do it on your own.

For fking hell's sake- why can't people be expected to reverse park their own car? Is the car driving public really so plebbing stupid that a reverse/parallel park is considered an advanced manoevre?

Pass me a shotgun.

That would be the test that often includes the parallel park? The same manoevre that every single person being tought how to drive will have gone through umpteen times before they go for their test?

I can understand new drivers being crap in the dark or on motorways, but to find it difficult to fking well park against a kerb is pushing it.

A test that involves a reverse park....
Ok so where did it all go wrong, no fker indicates no one can park, lanes discipline has gone to st.

And no fker knows how to use a roundabout mini or otherwise it’s like the last stand at the ok corral.

It took me changing my wife’s instructor and company after she told me that all they do is drive and no manoeuvres, just drive and when I asked why he told me that the way we teach now, fecking idiot.

I know this isn’t the case with all companies.

But where did it all go wrong with drivers?

I'm guessing new drivers take the same attitude to driving as you do to quoting. Can't be arsed to do it properly in the same way as the existing community because nobody picks them up on it.

Edit: Damn. You edited your post. Now I look a right tt. wink

Yes you do. But it only took 2 minutes to realise that I was doing it incorrectly and changed accordingly. Pity the same could not be said about current driving issues.

And your not a tit, I am the one who quoted like a right lemon not you.
