Will the commies stop at nothing? What about their 'ooman rights?

All Cubans 55 or older are allocated four packs of cigarettes a month for about 25% the normal price, but this privilege is being ended in September.

Even in Europe there still seem to be subsidies for tobacco.

I was in Cuba in July and was surprised how little the population smoke, much less that the UK! It may have a lot to do with the lack of advertising and restrictions to TV/films etc - the young (more arguably influential) are not swayed by 'trendy' stuff - thats my opinion of course the reality is perhaps they are just intelligent enough to realise thats its not a great lifestyle choice!

Mind you, a pack of Cuban cigs is about 40pence for a pack of 20 and after giving them a go, I wouldn't want to smoke if I was a local thats for sure!

Stick with the cigars :-)
