cleaning plastic to remove stains???

I have some plastic food boxes that are the same type of plastic as you would find in toilet seats (hard, none bendable, etc) rather than the flexible plastic that could be found in some food boxes, etc...
Think of like a biscuit barrel size....
One has unfortunatley been sitting in a small blob of curry paste and as such is not a nice beige anymore...
What can I do to bleach the bugger back to its original colour or has the plastic got impregnated with curry now?
Stupid query but I spot the blemish straight away as I know its there...
Throwing them out and using something that melts plastic is not on the cards, so suggestions please!!
