Outrigger Repair?

Sebring international over near Wisbech in Cambs. Whilst they are a fantastic indie service centre for TVRs they also make the Sebring kit car, and as such have a full workshop to handmake all chassis components including made to measure outriggers for TVRs.

Another vote for Sebring. Not had the work done myself but I've seen the outriggers and as Zippee says they fabricate entire cars so their workshop facilities are good. They insist upon a full body off rather than just hiking it up a bit and welding 'almost' all the way round.

The quotes I got were:

Sebring = £1500 + Vat
Offords = £1500 incl VAT
Techniques £1500 incl VAT

All the above would be plus whatever other work the find on the way - replacing the fuel pipe would be a typical extra.

All of the above make up a complete set of outriggers (both sides) and weld to the main centre chassis. It is not nescessary to lift the body.

You can sometimes get a section welded in, but its potentially messy and would probably cost at around half as much. The rest of the outriggers would need to be in very good nick for this to be sensible in my view.

Nowhere near as bad as that.
Just a very small hole on the front near side.
But without a full inspection who knows what its like further down?

I probably could get it patched up if the rest is OK?

A stone got jammed between the tube and the tub.
It really is a crap design is it not!!

Looks like I might as well get them all done next year just to say thay have been done,
If it can scrape through an MOT in November, I'll be pleased as I have to pay my son's final year at Uni fees next month.


Does anyone do stainless steel replacements??
