Garage rebuild
Discussion
We've lived in our house for 20+ years and always had a large garage at the rear, which is now looking tatty, both neighbours have rebuilt their tatty garages in the last few years with larger ones.
What planning permission do I need [if any] to knock down my existing and rebuild slightly larger [same size as the neighbours]
Other improvements would be dropping the kerbstones, we currently have to drive over the kerb [125mm high] to access the garage, so a dropped kerb would be nice
Are there any height limit for single story garages?
Anyone know the planning rules for this scenario

Not sure on the garage, but for dropping the kerb, I think you need to get a council approved contractor to do it.
Our local council were talking over £800 for a dropped kerb, as you need proper planning permission, plus an approved and licensed contractor to do the job. The garage itself will probably be more problem, but again, contact the PP people and ask, as it varies from area to area what the rules are. I built a concrete block 18 x 20 garage in my back yard, and didn't need PP for it.

Great link - many thanks
I notice this applies to England, I live in Wales do you know whether the planning rules r similar?
Any question :-
one of the neighbours has built his garage right up to the edge of his/my boundary, will I have to allow any gap between my wall and his?? prior to him extending his garage there was a wall there. which he knocked down and replaced with the wall of the garage.
