SCH 2011

I have managed it again and better this year - won't tell you where (but as always around the midlands) but have a runway and taxiways to create a track this time and no flying club to restrict the times of access

How many are likely to be interested on the Saturday afternoon say 1pm onwards so I know what sort of time frame to book?

Has the monster Griff gone then? Yep It'll be on a similar basis as last year but should be more open as I am hoping to look at half a day rather then the 2 hours

Dale (mycroft) has suggested a combined S series and Speed Six event - what is the feeling on this - the venues I have in mind can easily accommodate the numbers. perhaps "S" for S Series and S for "Speed Six"?

ETA: Please note this is me testing the water and opinions are wanted. The TVRCC have also asked if I want to do something a bit bigger with more models - I may look at doing two events if the feeling is single model event is desired.

Think of the glare from all those medallions!

Personally I think one of the big attractions of S Club is precisely that it's only the one model. Everybody there can share experiences etc. I think that's the whole point of it, and opening it up to what amounts to all TVR models released since 1996 (assuming you include Speed 6 Cerbera but not the V8) kind of defeats the purpose.

Just my view.

Not wishing to exclude anyone but this could see the event morph into a TVR weekend rather than just an S Club one and we would lose focus on our particular model, not something we want, especially with fewer of them on the road as each year passes, whilst there would still be the Griff Growl, BBW events etc.

As to mixing models, well I suspect we will have a range of opinions.

I accept the view that we want the foucs on the S, I do worry that as numbers decline we may not have enough to warrant an S only event in the near future. There is so much organising that goes into these events.

It is nice the S event being the size it is, we mostly know of each other and that is good. However, it's also good to share with others too.

I'm happy to have a 'solo' event or a mixed one.

Depending on venue, even a mixed event could have a degree of seperation, obviously parking, but maybe seperate hoon (that would help with road safety too) for example.

Well done for taking it on, an early date would be appreciated.

Making the assumption it is on one of our bases, if it is in our patch, there are a couple of us that may be able to help if face-to-face meetings are needed.

For SCH2010 I was asked by Sharon (TVRCC) not to reveal the location or date until Sprint announced the years events in January. I didn't consider this was an issue as they effectively subsidise the event. However once I have a date this year I will confirm a date, just not the venue. Be assured though - not too far from last years location
