What do you do to prepare yourself for a long drinking session. For example a mate of mine swears by eating a large chunk of cheese before he goes out. Soaks up the beer apparentlty.

I find milk is a good one, and a sandwich or something...

Stay away from the greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray the next morning however hehe

Never have fish before a night on the lash. It is almost guaranteed to make you sick half way through the night.

A bowl of pasta in a sauce is always good.

Do grown ups still go "out on the lash".

Never understand why people go out to get drunk, I mean you wouldnt go out to see if you could get sick in any other walk of life, for isntance I have never heard any one say "I am gonna go out to night shag as many birds as I can, and see if I can wake up with an STD"

Sorry didnt realise getting pissed, throwing up, eating st food, shagging ugly birds, and then spending 48 hours in bed recovering, was they only way to have a laugh.

And yeah been on a few stag nights/weekends, and unlike most I can remember all of them and what I did and still enjoyed myself with my mates.

I suspect that, for most, that's a side effect of going out and drinking copius amounts rather than the aim. The aim is to have fun with your mates and be social.

I do find going out with the aim of getting completely bladdered to be a tad strange but my hangovers seem to last about 3 days now which is enough to put me off serious overindulgance.

17 pints of Guniness, a couple of large malts and a pie on the way home hurl

Obviously the pie was off

wink

To answer the OPs question, I find a stack of starchy carbs such as a couple of baked potatoes with lashings of cheese and butter, or a plate of spaghetti with pesto act as very serviceable stomach liners.

To the naysayers, going out and getting absolutely trousered is neither big nor clever, and doubly so on a school night - but is strangely satisfying.

Poof. I once had 32 pints of Guinness in a particularly debauched drinking session with some Harlequins players.

48 hours recovering?

You get up, you get back on it.
