I'm currently stripping the 4 panel pine(nitromors etc)doors in my house (listed, c1800 built), and am considering the next stage after sanding etc. I've read about the varing opnions on the finish from linseed oil, varnish or wax but have not really found which is best and am looking for any suggestions from the ph collective.

Is the indoor listed as well as outdoor? If so you may be restricted to what you can do anyway. Wasn't all pine painted as it was "cheap" wood so had to be covered.

Beeswax should be very listed-building friendly I'd have thought. More than Ronseal anyway!

Strange setup this listing business, bought the house in Feb, the conservation officer has said they have no idea what's been done internally as they have never seen it! officially listing covers everything.
