Has anyone else played this yet, if so, what is it like, and have I just wasted my money?

What hardware do you need to play that? I can just imagine the groaning noises my PC would start to make once a dogfight begins

As much as I love IL2, I am quite looking forward to playing a different combat flight sim..

£47 is very expensive for a PC game. If it's any good I'll wait for the price to come down before I buy it.

That's €46.95, not £, but it is expensive. However, I did check the Amazon reviews, and they were moaning about having to pay extra for more flyable planes and content, something that seems to be all inclusive with this particular package.

OK, installed and played it for a few hours last night. The PC I installed it on is our home theatre PC with the following (3 year old) specs:
Intel C2D E6750 CPU @ 2.66gh
Nvidia 8800 GTX gpu (had to make a few alterations to HT PC case to fit it..)
2GB of Dominator DDR2 RAM (But about to change it to 4GB of DDR3 RAM)
2x500gb Samsung Spinpoint SATA HDD
SATA Blu Ray drive (just installed)

The game looks gorgeous with settings on medium to high, and plays very smooth. It is a lot like IL2, but with updated graphics and WW1 planes, which are obviously a lot slower than what I’m used to, but still fun. My only niggle is that there is no option for a gun sight view only, like in IL2 (There may be an option for it, but haven’t found one..) Graphics settings (and realism settings) are very scalable – it is clear that this was developed first and foremost for the PC and not console.

Unlike Wings of Prey, my 10 year old MS SW Pro USB joystick works perfectly, with no need to change any settings (this joystick has out lived 5 more expensive force feedback efforts!)

All in all, a very good game – I am in no way a flight sim fanatic, but I did enjoy playing it almost as much as IL2

Loved IL2 and wished they did a new one with better graphics (thats not just a console port)

Is there a demo for this anywhere?
