So, with a new house and an extension comes a new kitchen. So far I've settled on a design and visited a few places, supply only for cabinets comes to:

IKEA : £2500
Wren : £4000
Howdens : £14,000 (pre discount but without any internals like larders)
Neptune : £11000 for hand painted solid wood kitchen, £15k for a solin oak face framed kitchen.

Am I missing a supplier there? And shall I just pucker up and pay for oak?

Have you looked at Wickes? I have their "take away" and their "bespoke" catalogues infront of me... looks pretty good compromise between cost and quality

Try Bristol Buildbase:

Kitchen page:

I got mine from the Oxford branch, more solid units than the DIY sheds, Blum hinges and drawers, plus the few issues we had were sorted promptly without arguement.

Another vote for Wickes - found their units to be much better than others at a similar price point. Installed mine four years ago, extending the kitchen now and will happily go back for more units.

Try your local independent showrooms, I'm sure they will do a deal on supply only and will be alot better than the other options mentioned
