had a talk with my brother yesterday about le mans, originally around 6-7 people were going to go now its just me and him... both of us still want to go but neither of us can afford it yet...

so we're planning to 'wait and see', so perhaps book much nearer middle june (although 2 years ago we hadn't booked yet) so i was wondering whats the latest you people have booked?

i know you can buy your tickets on the gate - so no problem there, and we've probably got camping sorted... though if not what have you lot done?

also, whats the latest you can expect to find a space on the ferry or the train across???

cheers!

As yet no ferry booked, and due to circumstances beyond my control at work, I doubt if I'll be booking until the Tues before kick-off. If I'm lucky.... Worst case scenario is turning up Dover about 4am to get on the 5:15. Loadsa spaces on it last year. We'll see. Even worse case will mean a camping pass will be available at the last minute. BUM. Don't even wanna think about that !!!

there are often cancelled places available on the longer routes across the channel, so just keep trying.. otherwise, dover/calais as said is yer best bet!

i've done the day before, and on the bike, simply just turned up on spec.. annoys mea bit, as on a bike Brittany just shove you in any old space going spare, often wedged between coaches...

last year me and Psychobert booked the ferry and picked up the tickets for the campsite and admission on the Sunday, and went on the Thursday.

Latest booked is Jan.
Least paid is £205
(Excluding fuel* but including tickets, camping and return ferry based on 2 per car.)

*fuel also means human fuel such as food and beer
