My First "What Car Thread"
Discussion
Well me and mrs have gotten bored of the family car after just over a year, we do have a problem of liking to chop and change cars so thought i would put it up to the masses to help see if there anything that we have missed.
We need something big, so 4x4 or estate family car is preferable or big saloon type
prefer diesel
prefer automatic as mrs hasnt driven anything else since having this last car
looking up to £5-6k as wanting some change from selling the family car for a (jetski) or other toy
or to throw a spanner in the works wanting someting sporty
i know this isnt exact but i thought i would leave the options open.

not overly keen on the merc pete, just dont seem to like them and dont know why
but the volvo is a defo good shout i like them but the mrs prefers an audi a4 as we viewed both.
Nigel the S class defo is another good shout, would be worth a look/drive
The rangey P38 is interesting depeding on year and engine etc some are good others you need to avoid
any other suggestions

P38=MONEY PIT!,don't go anywhere near one, better off with a disco 2,less to go wrong. We looked at Audi estates before we got our first Volvo(now on 3rd)they have nowhere near as much space in the back I have had a full size stationary cupboard in the back of mine. They are also galvanised so no rust to worry about unlike similar aged Mercs and bemers Front tyres don't last long on them though.....
