Hooker and Lesniewski team up in Corvette

Essex racing driver, Ryan Hooker has announced his 2004 plans which will see him race in the British GT Championship.

Hooker has signed to drive with the Jensen Motorsport Team behind the wheel of a GT Corvette C5. He will be partnered by the 2003 GT Lights Champion, Dominic Lesniewski.

This will be Jensen Motorsport's first season of GT racing. The Corvette's V8 engine will produce 418bhp and will see the car speeds of up to 175mph as they compete in the GT Cup Class.

Hooker, who had a packed and successful 2003 which saw him clinch 3rd in the Formula Palmer Audi Championship amongst other honours, is thrilled to be offered this opportunity. "I'm very excited to be driving in the British GT Championship, the offer sounded very good and came at the right time . The team has a long term project. This includes developing the car to go up a category next season and to qualify for Le Mans in the future, which is also my ultimate goal ."

Having competed in the Bathurst 24hr race in Australia at the end of 2003, Hooker became more determined than ever to follow his ambition to race sportscars.
