What TVR Colour Is This?

I was wondering if someone could help me with this,

I was looking at some TVR scale models to purchase and I noticed this colour which is on a 1:18 scale Tuscan and the 1:43 T350 made buy different companies. Its listed as Pearl Green but TVR's Pearl Green doesnt look like that (its very dark) so it might be a mistake.






Basically I have not been able to find a picture of a real TVR with this paint job anywhere on the net and I what to know if this is a genuine in-house TVR colour. Does anyone know its name or has a picture?

Definitely not Chameleon Green. There was a slightly less metal-flake laden colour close to that I saw on a couple of Tivs (maybe a Tuscan?) a few years ago, but never seen one that's an exact match for that?!

I searched with Chameleon Green and although it does look like this colour from some angles the models paint colour is brighter and more pearlescent, also its a flat colour and doesnt shift with the light so its probably not a 'Chameleon' colour.

I do like the colour I'm just worried that its not a geniune TVR choice but just some paint the scale model factory thought would fit! That would be slightly dissapointing.

The models were released in 2003-4 so its likely to be a colour choice from that era if it helps.

Looks similar to my 2000 Tuscan a peugeot colour tucane lagano starmist, its a green with a gold starmist, does look very flat until the sun gets on it.

Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate it.

I colour matched the pictures against the model in Photoshop and I found that Juniper Pearl was pretty darn close so its most likely that colour. It does look like a perfect match especially on the light parts but I have never seen a Tuscan in that colour.

Its just odd that they didnt give the model (the 1:18 one) an official colour name, its just listed as 'Green' whereas other ones they make are listed as 'Chameleon Blue' or 'Reflex Charcoal'.

Maybe they couldnt get Juniper Green so they mixed the paint to look just like it but couldnt legally say that was the colour (breach of the licence).

If there are any other suggestions or comments it would be great, thanks.

Seen a couple of Griffs and one Wedge in that colour. One less Griff now though as it was written off.

I'm sure it's juniper pearl and is the same colour as the first Griff I ever drove (for sale at Gray Paul in Loughborough). Same colour car also features in the Spring '93 Spirit of Driving brochure - I'll post up a pic later.

Of course TVR didn't actually have "in house" colours but I guess you mean TVR's names for different manufactures colours.

TVR did have in-house colours, the Halcyon colours, Rosso pearl, red glow, chameleons, spectraflairs, red bull and loads more, I have just one list out of many that I have looked at with 60 odd TVR colours only.

iam not so sure its juniper green. juniper green is very green in colour but when a piture is taken
it turns blue. take a look at sprint may 2010 page 11 and 12 your see what i mean.

I think there is some confusion, they may be colours which were popular with people specifying TVRs but those were not TVR's own colours e.g. Rosso pearl was in fact a Harley Davidson motor bike colour, the chaps at Blackpool liked it and used it on a Cerbera, turned out to be a right bh to match up, which is why if you look at the headlamp rims of Cerberas and Chimareas in this colour there is often a slight difference in shade. Same is true of all the other colours you mention, Red Bull is pretty obvious TVR did not offer a "colour chart" in the same way as BMW or Ferrari. Chameleon paint was available to the public and PW used it as "his colour" on his racing Tuscan following which it became a popular colour with buyers but again it's not a TVR colour as such... I could probably go through your list of 60 paints and identify many e.g. Cooper Green is actually a BL colour used on the Rover 214 TVR called it Cooper Green but it's not their colour, same with Starmist Green and Cureton Green (named after PWs secretary Dorothy Cureton) etc.
