Just out of interest did many front wheel drive cars take part in the Vmax?

Really should have taken more notice of the calender, I'd have liked to have poppped along in the Saab. Brunters is one of my regular haunts .

[add insult to injury]

and it's a crappy 1.8 LS..

[/add insult to injury]

But you'd have beaten me if I'd've taken my car and not Mrs Slinksport's company barge!

We had Badger Bills extremily rapid very yellow Seat Ibiza at the last Vmax, it really was astonishingly quick on acceleration- like Ferrari 360 quick!! & its 160mph top end- considering brick like aerodynamics was rather impressive!

The Saab will bounce off the 6000rpm soft cut in 5th, 162mph. With the limiter at 6500 theres sufficent revs to pull in 175.5mph however theres no chance of it managing that although 165 may be possible.

Gotta be worth bringing it to the next one. Would be interesting to see how the Mid-Range compares to some of the more expensive kit.

I'd love to know what the yellow MR2 did.

That'd be my photographer friend Justin. He drives that thing like a flippin lunatic! And he doesn't know what the top speed is because being an import the speedo only goes up to something like 110. He did say something about hitting the rev limiter in fifth and that he thought the Type R would be quicker.

Incidentally on the way up the M1 I was having to nudge 140mph to keep up with him in my Griffth! Not slow those MR2's, especially modified turbo ones eh?

All the best - Chris

I have no idea what I managed to clock on the straight.....didn't seem all that in comparison to the 164mph we had out of Painy's Griffith. Got dicked on by the VX220, but was not having any problems with the Integra!!!

Have got some good photos of most of the cars on show at Bruntingthorpe on Sunday particularly the multi coloured orange/pink Cerbera...If you are interested please let me know which is your motor...should have a site up by this evening...will post a link

In the meanwhile, please email me at Justinlcarrick@aol.com

I meant the multi coloured Tuscan...sorry...was thinking about the back window of the cerbera blowing out when I wrote it! *(Cabin decompression!!!???)

Never felt the need to modify the banana mobile....what have you done to your "rollerskate" to get it to nudge 160mph?
