Z06 was never built for export (except Canada).
If you want one you will have to import from North America or buy one of the dealer imported grey imports. Regarding servicing I do my own and so far in 22,000 miles it has 2 oil changes (the filter is the same as the standard C5).
IMHO buy one NOW they will never be cheaper given the exchange rate and also the impending C6 means that US dealers are heavily discounting to get rid of excess stock.
The C6 is heavier than the Z06 and also has (5) less horsepower. I am very biased as I own a 2003 Z06 but it has been a wonderful car during my 1st year of ownership.

I've been trying to follow what's going on with C6 and so far have only seen or heard of coupe and convertible variants. For C5 the hardtop version followed in USA some time after the initial launch and has never been officially sold in Europe. Of the hardtops built I dont know what proportion are Z06 but would guess it might be quite high as I dont think the body style sold well. There has been an "almost Z06" version of the coupe available in Europe in last year's blue Le Mans color scheme but it doesn't have the LS6 engine so is not as "almost" as most customers would want! Some Vauxhall dealers will soon be selling the LS1 engined Monaro so maybe they will be able to deal with Vettes too - I guess Crownhill are sure to be on the Aussie list.

The hardtop was introduced in 1998 for the 1999 model year and was an attempt by Chevrolet to address the "softness" of the stock C5. The stock hardtop was only produced for 1999 and 2000 before it became a Z06 only bodystyle. The hardtop had a 6 speed manual as standard as was the Z51 suspension, a 3.42 rear axle and also the body was 12% stiffer than the coupe giving it excellent handling. Essentially, it was almost a Z06 without the LS6.
The 385bhp Z06 came in for 2001 but had a very stiff ride. The 405bhp 02 had a wider intake, descreened MAF, hollow valves allowing a more aggressive camshaft, single more efficient cat and revised rear dampers to make the ride slightly softer and allowing the power to be applied earlier. Nearly all the extra power is at the top end.
Z06 accounted for 10% of C5 production so they are widely available. 01's start around $32000, 02's start around $36000.
