I love the whole derelict building thing, clever use of HDR etc etc, would love to give it a go, however, there is a stumbling block. Because of my day job I can't 'trespass'. Methinks this is likely to make my chances zero, but has anybody done UrbEx stuff with permission?

I'm avoiding 'you know where', as their attitude would get me fired instantly!

Urbexing with permission is not unheard of if you can track down the owner of the building its worth giving it a go to see if you can get access. Even harder is to try and talk the security to turn a blind eye to you having a wander around, this however very rarely works if you arent female, or have a very good story for getting access(say you are making a book or something, i do know of someone who was caught out doing this though..

Or you could just try youre best not to get caught, if you are sticking to very derelict areas most people rarely care as long as you are not vandalising/stealing stuff. The risk of getting caught is a hell of a lot higher in semi-active or sites that have just closed down.

Either way have fun if you do find somewhere to explore thumbup, its an interesting hobby.

I'd love to get into a local Hospital as its still got alot of the equipment in there, but its has 24hr security, PIR, CCTV and they have rung us to attend so much recently with 'that' sites members trying to get in.

Doubt I will get permission, but they had a big feature on the local news recently about the redevelopment and I've tracked down the press office of the company doing the work, so will give it a go.

If you want someone else to get you access using means of working around their security (but not breaking it), i know someone you could PM...

Definatly worth a go, if you do get in put some photos up it sounds quite interesting!, the hospitals i have been to are either stripped out or well on there way to being reclaimed by nature.

ETA. there's a disused but current hospital in london like that, it's all kitted out and ready to go it's just not got staff, i'll see if i can find my photos of it

FWIW i'm no photographer, i may have a selection of canons and a stupid array of their expensive lenses but the best i can do is 'snap' material hehe
