Chewing gum on leather
Discussion
Brake cleaner will dissolve the chewing gum and is generally pretty good at not doing too much damage itself. It took gum out of my Griff's carpet mats years ago, much to my amazement, and did no damage to the carpet. Also got Playdoh off white suede trainers....
In fact brake cleaner has legendary status in our house....

I have some of this and it works exceptionally well - would highly recommend.
(edited to add: as it's an industrial product, it's generally sold in bulk - here in packs of 6 - but maybe a 'google' will find single bottles. Mine was a freebie from a mate in the cleaning trade)

Thanks THR, but I have no brake cleaner. What I did get from the supermarket was Dr Beckmann's Stain Slayer - worked a treat.
The can claims it's good for chewing gum, candle wax, tar, glue, fat, and loads of other nasties, though it doesn't mention leather it doesn't seem to have done any harm but if it all dissolves in a few days I'll report back.

I had exactly the same problem with the driver's seat saddle in my Tuscan. I tried all sorts - even put it in the freezer over night.....and I still couldn't get it off. Then, after a little help from Google, I tried lighter fluid. Hey presto! - a perfect result, with no damage to the seat saddle in any way at all.
Just squirt a bit on a clean cloth or piece of white kitchen roll and dab it. It actually dissolves within a few seconds and then completely evaporates with the fluid leaving no trace.
