S3 oil change

What do people recommend as the best oil for these engines, I wouldn't mind doing an oil change before heading for France (and covering about 2000 miles!)

I use 10/40 semisynthetic which is not too expensive and gives good oil pressure at all temperatures. The 2.9 engine is pretty agricultural so doesn’t really need anything special especially as the oil is going to get changed much more often than the recommended intervals in “classic” use.

Just make sure you get the right filter - it needs to be a specific type not just any old granada filter.
Some better V6 knowledge than mine will tell you the right type.

The standard oil filter for these engines is too long to fit in a TVR S (chassis gets in the way), so you will need a shorter version.
