Unless I am blind, then I swear that 2 Speed Scamera signs have appeared on the A331 over the last week.

One just after Frimley going southbound and one just after Aldershot going northbound.

Does anyone know anything about them? Can I expect to see scamera vans on the bridges soon? Have never seen anything over the last 2 years of driving along there apart from a few unmarked cars

It has always been a nice road for making "progress" looks like that might be set to change!

I noticed those last week too, I've heard that they police are going to sit on the bridges with the mobile van. I'd imagine the only bridge they could/would park on is the aldershot/ ash bridge at holybush lane industrial estate.
I also like to make progress down there but it's usually on my way home at 11pm with a clear run.

Yep, also noticed this and thought they were put up for the extra traffic for the air show. Did make me question myself thinking how i hadn't seen these before

I guess there do seem to be a lot of accidents on that road, no doubt speed is solely the causing factor in the plods eyes, hence the scamera vans appearing.

Pi$$es me off big time, purely for making money dont serve any other purpose as we are all aware

As the revenue no longer goes to the local police forces they haven't got much of an incentive to send the vans out (unless you believe the saving lives thing), I think that they'll turn staff who could be pointing guns (or the cash to fund staff, they might not be real coppers they use), to funding the stuff they can't avoid attending to i.e. incidents: domestics, crashes, basically anything they're obliged to respond to. I have no inside knowledge but when cash is tight you have 'the sh*t that just p*sses people off' (scameras) and 'the sh*t you have to deal with' (incidents) and it's hopefully the latter that'll now be the focus of the tax payer's penny.

lets hope so, as I think the Bib do generally a great job, but lets leave them to make the decisions as to if someone is taking the mick with their speed.

At least then they can use common sense around weather, road conditions, amount of traffic etc instead of some automaton sat in the back of the van eating donuts and shooting fish in a barrel

Nervously approaching the bridges for now....

Was it an ANPR or speed camera though?

and a week ago I saw a police car on the bridge from Farnborough towards Mytchett looking in the North Camp direction, no doubt ready to go down the ramp to catch speeders going in the M3 direction. Operation BeaVeR?

I've not seen any speed cameras along there. The vans are usually ANPR

Perhaps get your guide dog to bark next time you go past!

One around Aldershot heading North and one just after Frimley junction heading south.

In fairness there is only one each way so I will let you off wink
