Good pub/restaurant in Epsom?

I've just been told I need to go and meet a client in Epsom at 2.30, does anybody have any knowledge of decent places to go as I have never been here before! A quick Google has thrown up precisely FA.

Are you driving, or have you got to stay in the town?

The best I can do off the top of my head is the Cafe Rouge in the high street, I guess.

Going to drive as I have to high-tail it back to Blackheath afterwards and don't really fancy battling my way from Waterloo to Waterloo East afterwards!

Cafe Rouge won't really cut the mustard with this guy. Is there a strip of restuarants that are a bit different or is it the usual smattering of Pizza Express et al?

Just the usual 'pizza express' ' Il ponte' type places in Epsom town center im afraid. Nothing much classier i can think of off the top of my head.

Take the car up to the Derby Arms on Epsom Downs - it's a fairly pleasant gastro-put type thing.
