Sebring Result

Final positions for our boys (and girl)

It's been a pretty good outing for Synergy Motorsport this year. In their first 12 hour race they brought the number 91 car home in 24th place, that's 12th in the GT class.

Chris Stockton was at the wheel when the race finished, with the car having covered 262 laps.

The number 92 car finished the race in the pits, having covered 120 laps. It was classified as 33rd place, 16th in class.

Whilst everyone wants to win, just finishing races like this represents a major achievement so it's a result the team can be very proud of and should form a good basis for moving on and hopefully securing a place in the Le Mans 24 hours.

Morgan had a great weekend with Adam Sharp bringing home the Aero 8 in 20th place, 10th in class.

The American Team Elite Lotus Elise GT1 only completed 7 laps

Martin Short's Dallara finished in 5th place at the end of the race - a good but slightly frustrating result given than the Short/Barff/Barbosa car had been running in third place at one stage. A cracking result nevertheless for the British privateer team.

Pushing Shorty off the top was the Audi Sport UK team which took 1st and 3rd, and the Champion Racing team which took second place. All three teams were using Audi R8's.

In fourth place was a Corvette C5-R.

Enjoyed the race although the production team only got around to featuring
the TVR at about 2am..when it was in the pits. (They certainly seemed to like
showing the Morgan though. )

We all saw the first accident with the Porker, anyone know what happened
to Amanda to damage the suspension and brakes assembly?

If TVR return next year, might just have to make the trip.

Anyone know when Le Mans stick their 'invites' in the mail?

I thought TVR did remarkably well considering the obcene amount of money that the other teams dump into this. It was also announced that some of the UK teams didn't receive spare parts in time for the race, so don't know if that had any effect as well...

Interested in finding out what happened during the Alex Job Porsche bump as well. I should see Alex at end of April so will see if he knows anything...

If they ever get their niggles worked out, I expect the Saleen will be a very hard car to beat as well.

Great racing yesterday. My wife will now be happy that I am not glued to the telly all day today

Out of interest, I there were two cars that had retired at the time of the finish, should they be removed from the results? I thought at Le Mans cars had to actually be moving/driveable at the completion of the 24 hours? Rich...

Well done Shorty, Rob and Joao. 5th is exceptional in your new car. Just a shame that you dropped from 3rd, but 12hours is a long old race.

Yeah a big well done to all the Brits involved.

A big thanks to GCerbera who Texted me at 330 as i missed the last 30 mins due to an Airport run. Graham, and CU@Lemans.

Appaerently they where saying that Sebring is 4 times more demanding on the cars than teh 24hours of Le Mans. I think this is due it me more bumpy due to the old concrete runways etc. So quiet a feet to finish after teh cars have taken such a bashing.

Cant wait to see the highlights and roll on 24HR Le Mans

My pleasure BB.

Funny thing was, your ears must have been burning.
My brother was visiting to watch the race and we'd only just been talking about you.

You know him from the Griff Growl last year (kartman24.)

Roll on Le Mans!

Well done to both TVR teams for finishing the grueling Sebring event this weekend. Now, let's look forward to a successful LeMans effort this year as well as a successful GT season.

There was TVRs and a Morgan at Sebring . Does anyone know if either of them are planning of running the entire ALMS series, or are they just warming up for LeMans with Sebring?

Wish him all the best for me Ernest. I had money on his team at LM last year and will have again this year if his record is good

I had a look around his facilities last year whilst he was prepping for Sebring and Lemans:

...to say that the place was so clean you could eat off the floors was an understatement. Very nice man and his wife is a PetrolHead too. She and Mrs ErnestM hit it off quite well...
