Which Video Camera?
Discussion
I'm looking at getting a new camera to attach on my motorbike for trackdays and suchlike. I'll also be trying to use it when I'm kiteboarding and possibly when mountain biking. I currently use a £9 ebay special but want to upgrade to something a bit better.
I'm currently undecided between the ContourHD 1080p and the Gopro HD hero.

I'll probably get the camera from the States via Ebay so they both work out about the same price, at about £200.
Has anyone got any experience with both of these cameras and could give me a recommendation?

I haven't used either, GoPro is recommended by few people I know.
However I've decided to buy myself this badboy - http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/panasonic_l...
Slightly over £200 but it will do everything that GoPro will plus it's a really good camera on its own.

One of the lads used a go-pro on a coupe of bike runs. The wide angle lense works really well and captures most of the action and the quality of the picture is pretty good. it's also waterproof sealed away in it's little box.
Downside is that you don't have a view finder and it's hard to tell if its on.
Apparently there will be a screen avaiable soon but I'm not sure what that would do to the battery life.
The contour camera rechargable batteries would probably swing it for me as we went through quiet a few on the last run. Actually forget that, you're looking at a newer version with rechargables too!

That looks like a nice piece of kit but I think it might be a bit big for mounting on the bike or a helmet. However I've decided to buy myself this badboy - http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/panasonic_l...
