how do I get rid of my bike
Discussion
As some of you may know I crashed my RVF 400 last year.
I don't have the time or the money to fix it right now and its stored at my parents house. Since I moved out my Dad has decided that it has to go. So I need to shift it.
Does anyone know of a breaakers in Glasgow (or Scotland) that would take it for good money.
Alternativley if I put it on Ebay how much should I ask for it.
The core of the bike is good (frame engine wheels brakes, swingarm) but everything else is gone. The forks need straightened.
Its only got 9000 odd milse on the engine. It was in good nick before I crashed it. The exhaust system is fine.
I was thinking 300 quid and buyer collect. I can't move the bike as I don't have a trailer. Its worth much more than that to break down. Engine 250 rear wheel 20 etc but I don't have the tools to do it.
If anyone wants it or can help out give me a shout.
Andy

assuming you've got the V5, put the frame and log book on ebay for around 350-400. This way, you get the min amount you're looking for and you still have all the other bits.
Try placing an add on www.bemsee.co.uk (racers site) and selling it to someone who races 400 as a spares package - buyer collects.
You only need a very basic toolkit to take it apart - a few spanners, allen keys, and a couple of screwdrivers & pliers. If you have a friendly garage, they may lend you the required sockets and ratchet for the large nuts. Good luck
lovely.
You could always lob in it the canal or a skip, but then again, you could ask someone to kick you in the b0llocks. Neither is really a sensible idea...!
