Home to Pub conversion...thoughts please...
Discussion
So,
Following on from a recent post, how difficult would it be to convert my home to a Pub? You see, I can imagine very few disadvantages. No questions of who should drive home, what time does it close, where should we go for a quiet drink tonight-you know, that sort of thing. also, maybe a cheeky little profit on the side.

My friends brother did something similar to this but in his back garden. He decked a quarter of the garden built a shed to his spec basically like a butty van but wood. Installed all the lines and a chiller and charges £10 a head also comes complete with 42" lcd on wall.
Local brewery charges £90 for barrel of carling (sadly that is all that is on tap at the min) so he does make a little profit.
Im sure its more for the social side of things tho

Are you thinking about installing a bar in your house, or fully changing it to a pub.
That's a crucial difference
Bear in mind that *any* sale of alcohol to the "public" (ie beer being exchanged for money!) is tightly regulated, and the premises needs to be licenced, as does the staff selling (premises licence, supervised by a personal licence holder acting as "Designated Premises Supervisor")
As a licencee you must conduct your business in accordance with the four licensing objectives are:
Prevention of crime and disorder.
Public safety.
Prevention of public nuisance.
Protection of children from harm
and have policies in place relating to all of those.
It's a few hoops to jump through, and expect all your neighbours to complain as well
