Definitely not the best day for that guy... Makes for a great video though. Makes me appreciate how much better roads are in the UK, you actually have curves. I'd almost give my left testicle for that car. Almost

Anyone know anything about this car?? Is it me or does it seem a little too good to be true? Do tuned K-series work work after sitting for that amount of time?

Could be a possibility rather than the black Exige....

It's the old B10WN k car created by Geary at Eliseparts
(www.eliseparts.com).

It's been around in a few guises and colours since 1997. Sweet car though, but I imagine it may need a tiny bit of work on it?
Jon (the present owner) has bought "a couple of new cars" (ferarri and merc sl55 amg I think?) and needs cash. It's fairly cheap now but I imagine it'll bo up pretty quickly at the last minute.

Only that it has cropped up on the BBSs from time to time over the years. The description given is accurate from what I recall - Motobuild bought it quite early, it was in a few of the mags then got painted yellow with hideous red dashboard and an unreliable supercharger conversion. They flogged it, I *think* Jon bought it from them, couldn't sort the supercharger so put the QED engine in and had all the other stuff done by Geary at Eliseparts, who would no doubt be happoy to talk about his work.

If in doubt about the engine talk to QED - guess they'd recommend a freshen up but then with any 200+ bhp engine you have a lot of expensive bits to look after. Or you could cross your fingers, disconnect the coil and crank it a but to get some oil pressure and then try :-)

Well its been proffesionally stored and started every month apparently, but thats a very expensive engine if its buggered...

No reason to think its not legit though, I know the owner as we work in the same place. (p.s. not that I'm offering any guarantee etc, he just seems honest enough).

Was it just me or on the vid it looks like its burning oil?

UK roads - yes fantastic but did you also count the number speed cameras they went through!

Heart went out to them both - the definitive bad day.

Did the chap get an 18 month ban on the strength of that video? Granted they were shifting a bit on one or two stretches. Any idea if it was just speeding offences, or did the BIB chuck in dangerous driving or similar?

They'd argue racing on public highway, I'd imagine.

It was in the sun newspaper. 18 month ban - dangerous driving or due care and attention. one of the two. quick car and has had loads of money thrown at it.

bleh few corrections :

- 6 month ban (mostly due to previous (presume had had points))
- No they weren't deemed racing (because the ferrari never overtook).

Ah so correct dignostic - an engine not long for this world - if only it could have blown 10min sooner!

What exactly was wrong with the driving in the video? I think the police would have been better utilised investigating the car that was dumped on the pavement at traffic lights.

Ditto, the driving didn't look overly aggressive or irresponsible to me. Speeds were no way as mental as the cars were capable of, they didn't jump any lights or tailgate, they indicated at junctions and didn't get the tail out on any corners.

In short, I expect you see 'worse' driving from the majority of elise drivers on this forum on a daily basis (mentioning no names, except dragstar ).

But for the grace of god and a load of luck.

Aggree that the driving itself was very much less than you see every day - but in 2 high profile cars.

Sorry to say but the same mentality that will key your pride and joy (or egg it) exists in the BiB, as the background commentry shows.

Bitter twisted and needing to get to work of Manchester :-)

Did you all miss the 40 signs?

On an NSL I reckon the BiB wouldn't have batted an eye at that, as Bonce said the cars are capable of much more but 80+ in a 40 is asking for it IMO.

Nice cars though.
