How do you store/backup your photos?

I've been curious lately how people store they pictures on their hard drives.
Do people keep absolutely everything or not?
At the moment anything like trips away I tend to keep everything but if I have been out photographing, let's say an event, I download all the pics in to one folder, find the ones I like, process them, then store the original file, PS file, converted JPEG and then a smaller JPEG for flickr.
I then delete the ones I don't or haven't used.
What does everyone else do? Do people keep everything? If so how many drives do you have?
I currently have a 500GB internal for the OS and programs, an external 500GB USB drive for photos and then that is backed up to a 1TB network drive.
Despite only having the network drive for a few days the program that comes with it seems a bit, well, crap, it will only let you select everything or Mydocuments to back up and not individual folders. What programs do people use for backups? I currently just drag and drop which I find easiest but obviously that is dependant on me remembering to do it. I only consider backing up stuff every few months as I don't do that much compared to some people.
Last question, is it worth purchasing another 1TB drive for the network drive (there is space for another) and running in a RAID configuration or does that seem a bit silly given I already backup between the external HD and the network HD?
