TVR toll at le mans Classic?

Saw this pair of sorry beauties towed onto quayside at Caen last night. Are the owners out there and if so whats the story - and prognosis for recovery to full health?

Prognosis:
They are Griffs, probably didn't like going somewhere all foreign.

Recovery:
Body off and replace with a Chimaera bodyshell, much more suited to cruising around and having fun.


Interesting to note both tops are up, kind of puts to bed the hard core Griff driver roof down type image I'd say.

Damn think I know those. Friends of ours who left on the Sunday (We took the Monday afternoon crossing) Don't think the owners frequent this site. The yellow griff had a problem with his alternator which he got replaced in Arnage, so though was all good. The Red one I knew he had some gearbox/clutch problems but had fixed it before and otherwise a very reliable and looked after car.

I came up the 138 from Le Mans towards Alencon on Sunday evening (unfortunately not in my Griff as was with some friends in an MPV) and the yellow Griff was at the side of the road (I noted it as it is the same colour as mine) so sorry to hear it was presumably awaiting collection at the time.
Hope all is now sorted for the TVRs.

Oh we're ok for jewellery and the chest wigs, we use the Surrey Roof!
The Maroon Griff's clutch mechanisum failure and the yellow one again had an alternator failure, which he's not too happy about after forking out for a 'new one' in Arnarge.

Ouch! That's bad news. I thought Richard's alternator problems were fixed. I hope they both got back OK.

Oh John's ok, he's already got his gearbox out when my dad phoned him yesterday morning!
