Was working in Camden yesterday when one of my fellow freelancers, who I had only just met, suggested a quick break and to get some iced coffee from some place he knew locally.

The owner of the Moroccan style cafe greeted us as old friends and gave us tasters of his various, luke warm, spiced coffees and then said workmate got me the above mentioned Ginger and Cinnamon one.

It tasted ok but not really my cup of tea and we headed back to work.

Whilst working the old stomach started rumbling and I felt a bit queasy but carried on until teatime when we broke for food.

Sat down with some nice female company in the sun by the catering area when the rumblings grew urgent but I stayed my ground as it would have been rude to just suddenly take my leave.

People started staring at me as the sweat was pouring down my face and I could barely talk due to all my energy be used up in major buttock clenchage.

I made my excuses to my concerned table sharers and staggered off to the nearest loo.

It was in the cubicle where my whole world exploded out of my arse and there was fallout everywhere with major splashback. The only time I have seen mess like that have been in festival portaloos that have not been pumped out in a week of constant use.

That cubicle was my home for over an hour before I had the courage to leave sanctuary and return to work, which being a live show meant I had to stay in position for over 3 hours with no chance of a break.

That was a miserable time and I must of lost a few kgs in sweat.

Had to round the day off with a 10 mile commute home on my bicycle around midnight through Central London but on finally arriving home, celebrated with a doner kebab and chips with a glass of white.

Thank god for immodium.

The last time I had a similar reaction was when a workmate took me to his favourite veggie restaurant.

Sorry to share but avoid spicy, crap tasting iced, supposedly, coffees.

And the moral of the story is do not give up your crap diet for all this new age crap.

On one hand, I'm tempted to do the "cool story, bro" thing, but on the other I'm impressed that you celebrated your eye-of-a-needle stting episode by having a doner kebab.

All-in-all, top work fella.

Yes, after a bowel incident like that I don't think a greasy kebab would have been on my menu that day.

Good Effort.

I drink them frequently in Thailand. Gar Fer Yin.
Never have any issues.

It's either you or the coffee shop that has the problem.
You're braver than me having a kebab to recover though. smile

Could be me as I normally only have coffee when I get up to help me start the day, if you know what I mean. I believe some people need a ciggy for the same reason.

If I ever need a good clearout, I know where to go now.

Never understood this coffee and bowel movement connection. Not sure what is in coffee to cause this reaction to some people I just feel grateful that I don't have this problem!!

In this case I would hazard a guess at a bacterial infection via a hygeine 'fail' in the kitchen. Ice cubes are great vectors for this.

Its normally faecal-oral transmission, i.e. the OP has ingested a tiny bit of someone else's infected poo. This could have happened in food preparation or was part of some rather unpleasant sexual practice the OP has neglected to tell us.

And just because its you Becks, here is a picture of a badger!

Moved to Food and Drink!

Surely not this subject (faecal) matter.
