Stopping xbox live.

At the moment, just got an email from microsoft saying the card I use has expired, and i barely go online at the moment and i'm about to go on holiday. how do I cancel the subscription and keep silver? can't find anything online on the billing.microsoft website.

You just don't renew and it'll automatically default to silver.

You need to call Microsoft and get them to downgrade it to non-renew or Silver. AFAIK Once the contract tries to renew you can't change it yourself.

The option to disable online (when I did the same) was cancelled. I had to phone MS.

It's usually the 'ON' part that's hyperlinked, odd that it's not on yours, Have a quick look on Google and if you can't find anything you'll have to drop them a line

trust me its not that simple, takes them about a month to cancel it.

I signed up to the £1 for 1 month thing without realising they started taking £5 every month after.

Looked all over about how to cancel and could not figure out how too.

I rang up and after 25 minute got through to someone who could not speak English. After another 20 minute I got it through to them that I wanted auto renew off straight away and not at the end of the month.

It's hard work believe me...

Luke you need to call them to change it, ideally before your renewal date.
