We're currently getting a benchmarx kitchen installed. Looked around and it was a choice between howdens and benchmarx. They're pretty similar but I think benchmarx may have the edge in terms of quality. Carcasses are rigid (still needs all the internals assembling though) and drawer runners are 'blum', which i've heard is good. Installer did find a few bits in the delivery that were incorrect/missing and he was able to sort it directly with them quity easily.
Not sure if there is a Buildbase in Surrey? We got our units from them preassembled with a choice of coloured carcasses. We went for a smooth gloss door, but they definately do 'shaker' style ones too. They were very quick and pleasant at sorting the few minor issues we had, which I feel sorts the mens from the boys.
Omega is the same as the Lucido range from Buildbase, but always seemed to be more expensive when I saw it for sale under the Omega name, so might be worth using Buildbase as a haggling lever.
We almost ordered the Charles Rene Mackintosh range ( I have to confess I didn't know who he was until I googled the name), but there was a mix up as to which finish was available in which range, so we went for 'Ultima' ready made instead. Although assembling kitchen units isn't difficult I was glad of the ready made units as it was just one less job to do.
