I'm just wondering as per the title really. Oh and I mean the brown fizzy stuff not the white powdery stuff. I seem to drink a lot of the stuff, when in a shop or garage opt straight for a bottle of Coke rather than anything else.

Caffeine is addictive, and Coke has ceffeine in it so... maybe?

I've no idea, really, though - I don't know why I'm posting.

I haven't helped at all have I?

Oh well.

It's one of 'those' Mondays....

Caffeine aside it could just be product placement and/or familiarity as a result of marketing?

You're probably craving a sugar hit rather than the coke itself. I know of a guy who used to drink 2, 2 litre bottles of it a day. He went to the doctor with stomach cramps and the doctor told him to stop drinking coke (apparently wearing the lining in his stomach).

Its nasty stuff if you overdo it.

I've recently knocked all fizzy drinks on the head and have been drinking Robinsons sugar free or plain water. Mrs plumber is still having a can with her dinner and I had a swig last night and can honestly say its tastes like syrup. I hadn't had any for about a month after years of cola abuse (2 lts per day minimum). Its definitely addictive and crap for your gizzards.

I used to drink several litres of the stuff a day. Have gone cold turkey recently and started drinking water instead. Could be in my head but I feel much better for it.

The stuff you get in the US definately is. I was waking up in the night with a snonking craving for an ice cold can of the stuff.

If you want some food for thought about what it might do to your innards, pour some into a glass then add a dirty 1p/2p piece - watch it come out shiny and as-new. eek

That'll be the phosphoric acid that it contains then. It's what gives it the tangy taste on your tongue.

No! That's far too healthy, full fat is much much nicer.

Exactly, all good. Don't see the problem if you don't drink too much. The acid will probably help break down the food in your system too. Don't quote me on that though as I don't know, but would make sense.

Imho, Fanta Zero tastes much better than 'full fat' Fanta ... It's a bit sweeter and quite moreish!

The acid in your stomach is stronger than the acid in coke.
