For those of you with an Elise SC or a 111R with a Lotus SC upgrade, what normal running engine temperature do you experience?

Cheers

James.

Mine (Elise R with factory SC upgrade & auxiliary oil coolers) usually runs around 85-6 degree, though it will hit 90 in stationary traffic. Anything above that, and the fans usually come on, bringing temps back down to the mid-80's.

My SC hovers between 88C and 92C in normal traffic- when stationary for a long time it goes up to 98C before the fans finally kick in.

It would definitely be less stressful if they just used a bar instead of a numerical value- anything in the 90s seems really hot!

87c on motorway, stood, is around 90/92c, I've seen it go to 98c on a really hot day last year. All normal I think.

My SC usually runs between 88C and 91C whilst doing normal driving. It did reach 95C whilst stood in the traffic jam leaving Goodwood at the weekend. The handbook states "The running temperature will fluctuate a certain amount as the opperating conditions change, the temperature may raise to over 100C with the cooling fans switching on at half speed at appx 98C and at full speed at appx 103C" the boiling point of the coolant is 120C so I dont think you need to worry.;)
