We have the misfortune of having double timber gates on electric floor box motors, manufactured by NICE.

The gates are generally a royal pain the ass, and hate the wind. They often 'reverse' the linkage in wind, and open the wrong way, until they have a)jammed and b) operated the cut out sensor.

Recently a lug on the bar which links the gate to the motor arm sheared off. It's been welded back on.

The gates have now developed a mind of their own. They will open at will, close at will. On occasions one gate only will open etc.

Is there any obvious things I should be looking at, before I disconnect the bloody things....

Hi,

my company did fit these motors in the past. They are not fantastic but if set up correctly should be reliable enough.
They will be better if you can install physical stops for both the open and the close and not rely on the stops in the box. There are quite a few other things to check, probably best if you give me a call on 01978664505 and we can discuss it. Regarding the intermittent opening etc could be a problem with your control panel.

Cheers,

Ed

Much better to get your man to open and close them manually as and when required.
We now employ an eastern european gentleman specifically for the exact same task.
