One minute no ants, next minute, they're everywhere. Especially in the kitchen, they seem to have a route in under the floor via the garden (they stroll in, in a single file line). What's the best way to kill them all?

Hire this guy for the best solution....

or failing that have used the Nippon liquid with very good effect. A few drops before evening sems to be the best time to place this stuff for total carnage.

Just had this very issue. We used nippon powder and also went in the garden and found the nests - then dug them up, sprinkled with ant powder and now the problem is no more smile

I have just discovered that artificial sweeteners were originally designed as an ant Killing powder. I crumbled up a few 'pills' on the ants marching route a couple of days ago and it does eem to have had an effect.

Now i suppose i need to give my kitchen a good clean to dissuade them from coming back.

I always did hate aspartame. I must be 0.01% ant.

NB Cute anteater; I didn't realise they were so small.

Good, it's been ages since I've posted this image.

Although a magnifying glass outside in the sun is also useful.

Leave a bowl of syrup outside in the garden. They'll come to a sticky end.

I did this with some neat ribena and powdered synthetic sweeteners in a tuppaware bowl. The next morning the bowl was upside down. I now feel guilty cos 'my hedgehog' probably had a go at it frown

I think the powder, spray routes are better than traps.

Isn't the powder designed in a way that the ants take the powder back to the nest thus killing them all off?

Google he say:

Giant Anteaters mainly feed on ants and termites, and they have been known to eat up to 30,000 insects per day. They also eat soft bodied grubs and occasionally fruit and eggs.

They rip open ants nests and termite mounds with their clawed front feet and they use their long , sticky tongue to eat their prey.
