Boris evicts the campers on Parliament Square finally. I have nothing against protest, but I have everything against Parliament Square turning into a camping field. They should never have allowed even a single tent to be erected.

However, the Green party GLA member Jenny Jones said it was "a bad day for democracy in London".

"The lack of police presence showed that the protesters were not causing a problem," she said. "Yet the mayor was dogmatic in pursuing an expensive legal process.

"The mayor has satisfied the lobby who wanted the square 'tidied up' – but at what cost to our democracy?"
Get lost bh and take your pikey caravan with you.

Ian, a protester in his 60s, said: "I suppose we've done quite a lot of good work in a way. It's inevitable that the state stamps on anything that challenges its authority."
No, we just don't want a camping field outside Parliament.

And if they are still so upset - go camp outside Blair's house(s) ffs. He's the one they are upset with.

"ia bad day for democracy in London"

It's nothing to do with 'democracy'. Why do people always play the democracy card as soon as there's a decision they don't like? Did the majority of the population support their impromptu camping site?

I thought it reflected well on the UK that people were allowed to protest so close to Parliament. Having said that, the protest had got much bigger lately. It's nothing like the couple of tents that it used to be.

Peaceful protest is rather different to squatting on public land in the centre of London.

There shouldn't be a single tent on the green!

People need to learn to go home at night (to anyone's home, it doesn't matter), and come back the following morning.

It's not a campsite.

Does that mean I have to pay for hotel next time I stay in London? I liked the idea of that campsite.

Do you agree with evicting the Parliament Square protest campers?

It currently stands at,
33.6% Yes, they're a public nuisance
66.4% No, they're exercising a democratic right.

It's free apparently. Just get a badly painted board about an issue, eg "Ban Sunbeds", and pitch your tent. Parking is a bit of a bh though.

36.5% - we are getting there...

And yes, totally agree - its NOT a campsite. Protest and campaign as much as you like, this is a good thing. Camping on the green? Nah, thats not right....
