S3 DIY Exhaust?

Anybody built their own exhaust, bit of pipe and a few cans, how difficult can it be?Been having a look at this site http://exhaustpartsuk.com/ which seems to stock all the right sort of bits.

Not exactly built "from scratch" but this is what i cobbled up using a mild steel V8S exhaust picked up for silly money on Ebay. Tailpipes had to be pulled virtually parallel as per V6's to clear fuel outlet lump on bottom of petrol tank and a Y piece fabricated.
A Cherry Bomb silencer was later fitted because I found that while it sounded good it did tend to "drone" on longer journeys.
Tailpipes unmodified at this stage
Cherry bomb does a great job of taking noise from the car and out the back where it should go
Not one to boast but one of the chaps controlling the start line at SCH runway day did say I had the best sounding V6 !
