Can the 'Serach in titles' feature of the classifieds search be made a little smarter (like the ebay one) so that each word typed is separately searched for.

e.g. if I type '530d touring' it brings back zero results, but if I type '530d sport touring' it does bring some back. i.e. it's looking for the complete string of consecutive words only.

If I type '530d touring' it would be good if could bring me back every result which has both terms in the title, whether they're next to each other or not.

I too find this a little frustrating and time consuming searching for very specific strings.

We do have plans for a new and improved version of the classified search, but as it is a little way off I'll try to find time to tweak this in the mean time.

I do use that format for general searches of the forums, Dibbers, but it's pretty useless for searching the Classifieds when you're expecting a reasonable number of returns.

Sophisticated search systems used by ebay, autotrader and other large classified sites are a major piece of investment for a website, and with the growth we have had over the last 18 months is something high up on our future development list.

To implement this though will take up to 9 months, as we want to get it right, so in the meantime we will try and add little tweaks to make it better, but with the code base at the moment and lacking a sophisticated search box (FAST, SOLR, GSA, Endeca etc) this will not be to the level that ebay and autotrader can do at the moment.
