I really hoped they would revert back to the old format. Dont like this new one that bit..Sorry Channel 4 but I think you screwed up big time on this.

Fast forwarded 90% of the programme. Think it has lost that bodging(sp?) sparkle and it looks like more of a TV platform for Strawbridge than an engineering programme.

Agree. Loved the old shows. Can't stand Dick's Diamonds and the competition against the public though. Think I have spotted a few of the scrapheap people helping Hammond on his Engineering Connections TV show.

Strawbridge has made some good shows though - liked his one set on an old Airfield showing the science behind different military technologies over the ages...

It's not even on the 'scrapyard'!

It should be called 'build a contraption in your own yard / garage with a £500 budget' now.

I've avoided it, based on what I've heard. I rather liked Kryten and Lisa, they always seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Some interesting photos of her on the 'net, too.

It would have been fine as a spin-off series like Scrappy Racers was, but it is a poor replacement. It is a double cop-out this series because Dick Strawbridge's team are just using the hardware they made for last year's series! The only bright spot so far is that my local team is currently the only team to beat Major Dick.

She was a lap dancer in Lock, Stock: The TV series... In fact I think I'll dig that DVD out again.

That Dick used to be ok when he first started (Its not easy being green) but now he's just got carried away with his own importance. A friend who worked on the crew of one of his things said he was a right deva!

I ask you. rolleyes

I like his 'tache mind.

It doesn't seem worth a TV show anymore.

Last year I remember a team who had to give up, they are only given a £500 budget and they had to get the contraption to the test themselves, which if you live in the wrong place could easily cost that.

She did a good show all about her lady garden too

Old Scrapheap > New Scrapheap (even though a lot of it was faked)

Old scrapheap was one of my favourite TV shows of all time. Particularly the earlier ones where teams seemed to be selected for engineering ability rather than TV friendliness and the health and safety seemed a bit more hands off. The new ones are terrible - unwatchable crap. I can't believe someone decided that the extremely weak 'roadshow' specials made a decent basis for an entire series.
