Had her arse well and truly handed to her by Andrew Neil, taxi fare expenses and a racist comment about West-Indian mothers, she was genuinely well outside her comfort zone, quite a suprise really.

It was nice to see her squirm! Interesting that she didn't take the opportunity to distance herself from the "West Indian Mothers" comment when Andrew Neil gave her the chance.

Abbott is a joke in and out of the labour party. A self-important clown.

I loved seeing her slimy, smarmy false smile that said "I *!&$£!* hate you Andrew Neil!" She's like a (very) well fed snake.

Self-publicising, hypocritical non-entity. Hope she's humiliated in the leadership campaign.

Indeed.

She is precisely the sort of Labour leader that this country needs.

Loved seeing her look so uncomfortable.

Did anyone watch the programme a few weeks ago when she explained why it made sense for her to join the leadership contest?
She came out with some mad bks about Midsomer Murders being This Week viewers favourite programme and argued that because Midsomer Murders does well in the ratings that would mean there would be a lot of support for her.

Just as I was wondering how she came to that conclusion, an equally baffled Andrew Neil asked the same question, which she failed to answer.

So Diane Abbott isn't just a racist, she's a thick racist.

Andrew Neil did a great job. 'If you think West Indian mothers are so good then why don't you want to send your child t a school full of children brought up by lots of other West Indian mothers' laugh

There it is. As usual, YouTube beats iPlayer for getting it on the internet.

Hmm - it may have beaten iPlayer but it IS on the "This Week" website (I've just watched it).

BBC have delayed putting the whole programme onto the iPlayer until after its second broadcast on the Parliament Channel at 6.00 pm today.

PS - did she answer ANY of the questions she was asked.

This Week is the BEST political show on TV at the moment. I'm surprised Neill hasn't been fired by the BBC yet.

How long did it take for her to refuse to discuss her personal policy on schooling her children?

She was on R4 a while back, Any Questions I think & a similar question was asked, not related to her choice of school for her kids.

Her immediate response was how people always attack here personally.

Yes luv, probably because you are s 2-faced self-serving lefty bint.

She's PERFECT for the labia leadership.

Top marks to AN for having the balls to take her on live.

Clearly anticipatable if you know anything about his past form and clearly totally unanticipated by her.

Don't think she'll be back on the sofa this side of the ballot.

Interesting to see just how uncomfortable Portillo looked as well.

I thought he behaved admirably, smiling ruefully each time a question struck home and when she tried to dodge for the umpteenth time.

She may not want to come back to share the sofa.
