That does sound a ridiculously long time for a property transfer, but it depends on probate if he's died. Why not ring them and ask what the hold up is?
I have b

The original deed holder would have had to sign some documents consenting to the transfer of the deeds to the new holders, who then in turn have to sign there side of things also consenting to the transfer in to their names.Like I said, ours took 6 - 8 weeks, and that was with also transfering the mortgage over to new policy holders at the same time.
It only took this long because the dozy mare at the building society kept 'misplacing' all the required documents needed for the transfers.
