I did after seeing a previous thread on here that showed them, and it didn't work - I think, given what they are, there's quite a few knackered ones. You have some great driving roads round your parts!

I think you've been unlucky, that's the first dead one I've heard of.

I squashed the files to about 1/8 their original size before uploading - ~190MB/10mins - but the quality is still remarkable.

I got mine from eBay user danke-fly for $10US including p&p.

It records sound quite well, I just have a very quiet car!

I turned the music right down in the hope of getting engine noise but it's only really audible accelerating in low gear.

The longest recording I've made is ~34mins which resulted in a 2G file and another of ~350M, so it's not limited by the FAT32 2G filesize limit.

Also got one. Considering I'd just stuck this to the bumper with double sided tape (Cable tie backup) it did well. Even the wind noise wasn't that bad.
